Make this easy gluten-free Air Fryer Mississippi Chicken Drumsticks Recipe that is full of flavor, plus quick and frugal too. This is a wonderful, simple meal that will please the whole family with pantry ingredients!
Air Fryer Mississippi Chicken Drumsticks are going to be made similar to Mississippi Chicken and Mississippi Chicken Tacos, but this time we will use drumsticks instead of chicken breast or thighs! This is a great little way to build on that savory, pepper flavor. This juicy chicken is crispy on the outside, and warm, tender chicken on the inside.

- Sprinkle the dry seasoning mixture directly over the chicken.
- Cut the butter into small slices and place over the chicken along with the peppers.
- Air Fry at 390 degrees F for 8 minutes, carefully flip and cook an additional 7-8 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 175 degrees F-185 degrees F, due to the bones the internal temperature should be higher before serving.

Tips for Making Mississippi Chicken Drumsticks in the Air Fryer:

- Pat the chicken dry before adding the seasoning.
- Do not overcrowd the pan or basket, make in batches if needed.
- Use an 8-inch cake pan or the size that fits your air fryer basket to be able to keep all ingredients contained.
- Give it a light spray of olive oil cooking spray if preferred to get extra crispy skin.
- Add additional pepperoncini for extra spicy.
- Always use a meat thermometer to cook to the correct internal temperature, in this case up to 175 degrees F.
Make it Extra Frugal with these Tips:

- Be sure to grab the family packs of drumsticks when you see them on sale. They can be split up and stored in freezer safe storage bags.
- Serve with easy, frugal sides like rice, potatoes, or canned vegetables.
- Utilize leftovers into Mississippi Chicken Tacos or other meals.
Storage and Reheating Tips:

Once fully cooled, store the leftover chicken drumsticks in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to serve heat at 350 degrees F for 4-5 minutes.
