The best breakfast pastry made easy with Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls using Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls!
One of my favorite ways to use the air fryer is just by cooking some of the prepared foods we purchase such as Cinnamon Rolls.
Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls can be made in less than 8 minutes in the Air Fryer!
What is the benefit of making these?
Of course, eating them is the benefit, but we’ve found that making them in the air fryer takes much less time. These are ready in just 8 minutes without doing any pre-heating.
It’s also a great option to teach the older kids to cook too, my daughter is pretty handy with cooking these as well. We still get them out when they are done, but she loves to put them in and get them ready to cook.
If you want to add a twist, you can top them with bacon too, sounds tasty, right?
How do you make Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls?
These can be made in your Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi using the air crisp function. With either appliance, all you need is the air fryer basket, no extras are needed.
These are the perfect addition to your list of Ninja Foodi Recipes too!
We spray the basket with just a bit of coconut oil spray, then place the cinnamon rolls right in the basket. The basket is the perfect size to fit the entire batch of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.
How long do you cook Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls in the Air Fryer?
Once they are in the basket, air fry them for 8 minutes at 360 degrees. This should be enough time to get them browned on top and the bottom done as well. If you want them a bit more crispy, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
We have found 8 minutes is the magic number for our preferred taste and texture.
I haven’t tried this particular method with other brands of cinnamon rolls, I’ve tried Aldi and a variety of others just in the oven but none of them seem to compare to Pillsbury.
If you do use a different brand, check-in on them after 6 minutes to adjust the time if needed.
Can you use Aluminum Foil or Parchment Paper in the Air Fryer?
Aluminum Foil is easy to use in the Air Fryer. If you plan to use foil for Cinnamon Rolls, I’d suggest using this parchment paper that is made for the air fryer.
This parchment paper fits right over the holes in the air fryer and will help keep the air circulating and you won’t have anything sticking to the bottom too.
What about biscuits in the air fryer?
If you want to find out more about using canned biscuits in the air fryer, be sure to check out these Air Fryer Donuts with Canned Biscuits.

It’s almost breakfast time here for me and now my mind is set on cinnamon rolls. 🙂 Thanks for sharing about the air fryer being so much faster.

I have loved these since I was a kid. Thanks for sharing a new way to make them. #HomeMattersParty

This is a great idea for a quick breakfast treat. I live in Florida and turning on the oven in the summer is not an option. Thanks for sharing. Pinning.
Have a great week,

Just made these. Came out burnt on top and raw on inside !
Kristy says
We make these regularly without an issue, what type of air fryer are you using? How long did you let them cook? 7 minutes or 8 minutes?
Pradeep Kumar says
Actually true. They came out brown on top and completely raw from the bottom. Had to flip them and bake again for 5 mins. The shape was ruined.
Nakia says
I found that 6 mins is best in my air fryer. I flipped over at the 3 minute mark to cook on the other side. They came out perfect. If I left them in longer mine would have burned too lol. I’ve found my fryer cooks pretty fast so I have to tweak it.
Padrn says
Same happened to us using a ninja foodi, but we were using a 5 count, which is a more significant factor than I originally anticipated. So we had to put them in the oven to finish them so we could even eat them. So noted, for a 5 count, the really big rolls, def lower the temp and go longer. I’ll have to experiment with the details. It sucks because the outside was PERFECT but when I cut my toddlers in half they were raw.
Tracy says
Mine did too
katie says
same thing happened to me too. not sure why it works in her air fryer but none others. but these instructions are not good for most air fryers it seems
Morgan Garrett says
This is exactly what happened to me
Jen Pratt says
Morning!! Made Aldi brand cinnamon rolls in the air fryer this morning! 8 min and they were perfection! Thank you!
Kristy says
Happy to hear this!! Glad you enjoyed them.
Suzanne says
I used regular parchment paper and it didn’t cook them under so I removed and flip them over and cooked them for an extra 3 minutes and they were perfect.
Dakota says
This did not work for me. The too was burned and the bottom and middle were severely underdone.
Kristy says
I hate to hear that, what type of air fryer did you use? I’m hearing that many are seeing them work better if they flip them 1/2 way through the cook time. I haven’t ever had to do that with the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer. Here is a YouTube video of the process – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrofAWTMpZg&t=5s
If you do cook them again, try flipping them at 4-5 minutes.
Nicole says
Made the Trader Joe’s brand in my gourmia airfryer. Placed in an 8×8 square aluminum pan, baked at 350 for 8 minutes, they were so perfect. Brought them to my son in laws for breakfast, transported in my pre-warmed crockpot to keep warm. So so delicious. Haven’t had cinnamon rolls in so long! Thank you!
Kristy says
So glad to hear that, love the idea of doing the aluminum pan too, great to take on the go!
Larry says
Just tried pillsbury cinnamon buns in my Ultima Cosa fryer..8 mins on bottom of basket no parchment…came out perfect
Cheryl says
Cinnamon rolls in the air fryer what a great idea. These turned out better than the oven. The look amazing. A beautiful rise, nice golden color. The taste is spot on.
Mary L Harkleroad says
I just made these. I have the PowerXL Vortex 7qt. I put them in at 350 deg for 8 minutes, I flipped them at the halfway mark and these came out perfect 🙂
Lynn Taylor says
I put them in a cake pan in my xl and they turned out great. Would have been better if I flipped them half way. Next time……
Kayla says
I have the same one! I will set to 350 next time and flip halfway thru. I did 360 and had to take them out at 4 mins because the top was brown but inside slightly under but mostly done so i ate anyways ☺️
Cindy T. says
I just tried the Aldi brand in my Power XL air fryer for the first time. After reading many comments on here, I ended up baking them at 350° for 7 minutes. Had to flip them at 3 minutes remaining & they turned out perfect!
Nathan H says
Thanks for the Perfect recipe- they came out great
Aldi brand rolls in a Power XL, preheated 3 mins to 350, set 4 rolls a side staggered for space. Set the fryer for 7 mins + the “shake” function and flipped at the shake. Delicious, right color, great combo of lightly crunch outside and ooey (but not too gooey) inside.
Dr Rhonda says
Used directions on Oillsbury package. 320 for six min. Turn over an additional 6 min. DO NOT PREHEAT.
Dustin Hartley says
I just made these in my Oster air fryer. Flipped half way though and they came out perfect.
Jazmin williams says
Worked for me. Flipped them at the 4 min mark and they were perfect. Thank you for sharing.
Anita says
Gave them 400
temp and 15 min. time. Bad idea! Guess what! Trial and error?!
Anurs2 says
Why didn’t you follow the recipe? She said 360 for 8 minutes. No wonder it didn’t work.
MICHAEL HAVLIK says
8 minutes at 360 was perfect in my 6qt Chefman. Yummy!
Susan says
>I have a Hamilton beach airfryer! What’s my cooking time and degrees???
Kristy says
Each one will vary, this works for me at 360 for 8 minutes. It should be right around the same time as that, but keep an eye on it and check on it about a minute or so before.
Lori says
My came out extremely brown on top, I flipped them and bottom was still raw. Cooked them for another few minutes to get the rawness cooked. The middles never did cook right. I think it’s because I used the Pillsbury Grand rolls. Did you use the smaller size rolls?
Kristy says
I didn’t use grands, so it could have been the size and you may have needed another minute or two on the cook time.
Amos Heath says
I have an Instantpot Vortex oven. Using Publix brand refrigerated cinnamon rolls. I used the perforated parchment paper on a rack preheated to 360. Put them in for 8 minutes. At 4 minutes I checked them and the bottoms were barely cooked. Turned them and continued to 8 minutes. They were cooked through but the outer layer was a little overdone for me. I think 6-7 turning half was is the ticket. These ovens and fryers vary a lot. I have 1 of each. They were delicious, easy and cheap. Thank you so much for the recipie. It gave me an excellent starting point.
Donald Brown says
do I need to preheat the air fryer
Kristy says
No, I usually don’t.
ken teaff says
All air fryers will preheat regardless of whether you want them to or not. Some are faster than others. The Ninja Foodi preheats in about 45 seconds. The Instant Vortex Pro takes at least 3-4 minutes, depending on the temp. The air fryer will not start blowing the hot air until it’s preheated.
Just cooked some in my daughter’s Vortex Pro. While they weren’t actually burnt, they were pretty close. I should’ve checked them at 6 minutes. I’m betting they would’ve been done at that point. Will try them in my Foodi soon.
Shanae says
Been having a craving for cinnamon rolls but mostly use my air fryer for EVERYTHING!!!!
Searched for an air fryer recipe.
Found this one and followed the easy instructions.
8 mins later I am Happy as a pig in a blanket!!
Too Easy!!!!!
SamNYC says
If your air fryer basket has enough clearance beneath for hot air to circulate, then you won’t need to flip the rolls. I have the InstantPot Crisp air fryer and I never have to flip my baked goods because the hot air below is enough to cook and brown the underside. Just make sure you don’t use aluminum foil or parchment to block the holes of the basket.
Jessica Andrew says
Will not make them in the oven anymore!! Quick, easy, and quite honestly better in the air fryer
Kristy says
I agree!
SamNYC says
A suggestion: NEVER use cooking spray on non-stick cookware, whether that be Teflon or ceramic. Cooking spray has lecithin, a protein in egg white that makes eggs so sticky and hard to scrub off. When heated, cooking spray leaves an invisible residue that isn’t easily removed with soap and water. This baked-in residue will build up, ruining the nonstick surfaces. The instructions to your nonstick cookware should explain this.
Instead, put a little cooking oil on some paper towel and rub it on your cookware.

Awesome! I’d heard of this and decided to try. I used Great Value cinnamon rolls with same instructions but flipped them with two minutes left. Husband walked the dogs and had these ready by the time he was back. Big hit! Thank you so much!
Cassie says
I made ALDI brand in my Cosori 5.8 air fryer: preheated at 360 for 2 minutes. Sprayed bottom very lightly with olive oil. Cooked 360 for 3 minutes. Flipped. Then another 3 minutes. They turned out perfect.
Eve says
*sprayed “bottom” of pan
Eve says
I used the Cosori the basket is large enough the rolls did not touch. There’s a bread setting that I noticed was 8 mins and only 320 degrees. I decided to try. I had a back up roll sleeve in my fridge which made me especially daring. Sprayed buttoned pan with Canola (don’t use extra Virgin olive oil, canola handles heat better). The rolls are pretty golden brown with a crisp on the outside. The inside is warm and perfect. Didn’t have to flip. I’m eating one right now
SLQ says
I just made an 8 pack of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in my Ninja 8 qt and they were absolutely perfect! I cooked them in a Fat Daddios 8” round cake pan with a precut parchment paper baking circle. I placed the pan on the canning jar rack in the pot. I cooked them for 8 min. at 390 degrees. The tops were dark(er) brown but the bottoms and middle were absolutely perfect. NOT raw at all, and definitely on the less cooked side compared to the tops. I pushed in the centers of each roll and put a dollop of frosting in the middle! Omgosh! These were AMAZING! I couldn’t resist eating them immediately, but I’m sure u could probably leave them in the pan and covered them with foil for a few more minutes if u wanted them cooked any more on the bottom/middle. YUMMM!!!
User says
8 minutes at 360 burned the top of mine 🙄
Susan says
I own the DREO air fryer and I love it. I preheated to 360, then cooked cinnamon rolls at 360 for 4 minutes, flipped and cooked another four minutes. Perfect. I sprayed the tray with canola oil (that’s all i had on hand) before placing rolls in.
Pam says
Definitely works. The rolls have to have enough space between them to rise properly. Also preheating the fryer for 3 mins is best.
clausette says
I cooked them in my Cosori airfyer. They came out perfect! thank you
Jennifer says
I have found with cosori air fryer to use lower temp for a longer time worked best, 330°f for 7mins and flip for an additional 3 mins and they come out fully cooked and crispy on the outside no burning
Pat says
So very good! I have the Ninja Foodi air fryer. I will never go back to the oven again! No waiting on the oven to preheat, no greasing a pan. I did not have to turn over for it to be done. I used no oil at all and there was little to no mess. Thanks for the recipe!
Kristen Bodeman says
I used air fryer as directed, came out burned on top raw in middle. I flipped and bottom now burned still raw in middle. Will just use normal oven way. Trying to do a quick breakfast. Wasted a a whole can. They were unedible.
Sarah says
Same experience here. (Ninja Foodi grill and all) So disappointed to have to throw away half of our breakfast this morning.
Hamilton says
Just turn the heat down to 340 and flip halfway through. First time you try cooking anything in an airfryer always play it safe n watch it like hawk. can go south pretty quick
Jenny says
I have an Instant Vortex Plus air fryer and 6mins at 360 was plenty of time and I didn’t need to flip them. 5 1/2 mins would probably be perfect. First batch I made, 8 mins was too long!
Tracy Morgan says
The Pillsbury cinnamon rolls turned out perfectly, following your directions! 360 degrees for 8 minutes.
Please note these directions are for the regular size cinnamon rolls. If you’re making the jumbo size, you may want to add a couple of minutes.
Jen says
Delicious! I have an Instant Pot Vortex Pro and cooked them right on the grate, and at mid-level. I put them in as the fryer was preheating and kept an eye on them. They were done quickly (maybe 5 minutes), and no flipping needed. Crunchy top, moist inside. Thank you!
laci says
I did these tonight, they came out well, and for something quick and easy would do it again, but have to admit they just don’t remind me of a true cinnamon roll I did check a few times, and did flip at halfway point no burning. I just got my first air fryer yesterday so this was a good experience.
Marina says
I wouldn’t recommend these directions for a Philips XL air fryer. Mine has a wire basket, and I think sed the small pillsbury rolls. I used cooking spray but they really stuck to the basket. Checked them at 5min and they looked good on top and bottom, checked again at the 7min mark and found the middles were not done and the outside was totally done. Flipped them, Turned down to 330 for another 3 min, still not done, had to turn down to 300 and do an additional 6 minutes. Ended up with totally hard crispy outsides and had to put a bunch of butter on them to make them salvageable and they were not pretty.
The regular oven would have taken about the same amount of time and had better results.
If you had to use an older Philips I’d suggest turning it down to 330 and doing a lot more time.
Johnny Miller says
Just got our Ninja for Christmas. Made these on Christmas morning they were great. I did notice that you calories stated 52 calories when on the can it says 150 calories per roll. What this a mistake?
Liz says
Came out great! Thanks. They are even better in the air fryer than the oven. Took alot less time too.
Nikki says
I just got a new stove with an airfry program. Can you use this in the oven on airfry?
Kristy says
I actually got one too and I’m loving it. It should work the same but I have noticed on mine that it takes a little bit longer.
Stephanie says
Annie’s cinnamon rolls are even better! They’re expensive at the store, but 3 for $13 at Costco.
Sad Person says
This recipe did not cook them at all except for the outer ring. Very disappointing.
Sandra says
OMG! Worked great. I have a Ninja. I set to 360 degrees for 4 mins and then turned them over for another 4 mins Perfect! Thanks a lot.
Georgia says
I’m new to the air fryer( have a Ninja Max XL) I did a small 5 can Pillsbury cinnamon rolls – used the “bake” setting at 360 degrees for 8 min & flipped at 4 min & the rolls came out perfect.
noah says
the top was done after 8 minutes… the bottoms were absolutely RAW.
Sam says
I have an oster small air fryer. While this is a good starting point it’s very much a “it really only works for this air fryer”.
So I had to split mine in two batches after noticing that the full batch wasn’t even browning after five minutes.
5 minutes, flip, another 5 at 360. Yeah it did ruin the shape but I cut them up into cinnamon roll bowls anyway so if that helps anyone.
Sway says
Seriously? I oiled for nonstick, 360 for 8 minutes check at 7.. and ended up with charcoal. No breakfast today I guess. Thanks.
