Get ready to make a kid-friendly favorite with Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits, these are also easy to make gluten-free if that’s a need too!
I’d go out on a limb here and say that most of us know what a Pizza Lunchable is, but if you do not, it’s basically a pizza crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni in a pre-packaged container. These tend to be the go-to choice for kids.
They are not always the most feasible though especially if you have multiple kids, which is why I decided to adapt my Heart-Shaped Pizzas to make these Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits.
Remember these can be made as a Ninja Foodi Recipes too using the Air Crisp function in the Ninja Foodi.
How do you make Gluten-Free Pizza Lunch Box Kits?
Air Fryer Homemade Pizza Lunchables are easy to make gluten-free, simply by making gluten-free pizza crust.
My preferred pizza crust is Delivery Style Pizza Crust by Better Batter. This is one that you make from scratch, but it works perfectly for this recipe.
A few key notes if you make gluten-free pizza crust, be sure your hands are wet when working with the dough and have extra flour on hand as well to make it less sticky.
Using wet hands though is the KEY to making this easy to work with.
What dough do you use to make Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits?
The dough can be made using ANY of your favorite pizza crust options, this can also be made using store-bought pizza dough such as Pillsbury Pizza Crust or your choice.
Again as I said with the gluten-free crust, it’s best to work the dough with wet hands to avoid it being too sticky to work with.
How do you make Heart-Shaped Air Fryer Pizzas?
The best part of making your own pizza is that you can make it in different shapes. Of course, you can easily make it round, but if you want to make it festive or just fun for the family, use a cookie-cutter.
To make these heart-shaped, I used a 4-inch heart cookie cutter. It can be done though with a variety of different shapes.
One thing to remember too is that when they are in the air fryer and get done, sometimes the dough puffs up just a bit, just use a spatula and press them down.
As they cool they will shrink back down, similar to a cookie.
I adapted the cook times and temperatures from these Air Fryer Pan Pizzas.
What container should you use for Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits?
We love these EasyLunchboxes, we’ve been using these for maybe a decade now and they work well and last a long time too.
If you want to protect the pizza sauce, even more, place it in a separate small container.
How many pizza crusts will be made for Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits?
This particular recipe made 1 large pizza dough, which broken down made 12 heart-shaped pizza crust. I was able to fit 4 in the air fryer basket at a time and cooked them for 8 minutes. If you do not want to make that many at once, you can freeze the dough.
How do you freeze fresh pizza dough?
If you do not necessarily need 12 pizza crust, split the dough in half and freeze half the dough for another week.
To do this, roll the dough out as if you are going to make a pizza or cut smaller pizzas, then wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
Place the dough in a freezer-safe storage bag once it’s wrapped, store flat in the freezer.
Do you cook pizza Lunchables or Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits?
Now, this is where I’m on the fence with pizza Lunchables, they are actually not normally cooked. The crust is cooked, but when kids are at school, they are not going to be cooking the pizzas at school.
That means, you send them with the crust and they build cold pizzas.
If you are like me and want to make one for lunch at home and prefer it to be hot, place them in the air fryer at 375 degrees for 2 minutes with the toppings and it melts them perfectly.
It’s time to enjoy these Air Fryer Pizza Lunch Box Kits!
