What fish should you use for Crispy Fish Tacos in the Air Fryer?

Fish Tacos can be made with a variety of fish, including cod, catfish, tilapia, mahi-mahi, or bass. Of course, you can use any fish you prefer, we decided to go with Tilapia for these fish tacos. It’s best to use white fish fillets, these will give you the flavor and taste of fish without being overpowering.
What should you top Air Fryer Fish Tacos with?

We love to pair our fish tacos with Corn Salsa. The Corn Salsa will get warmed up when cooked in the air fryer, so there is no need to heat it up beforehand.
Another great item to top them with is coleslaw mix, the slaw can give it a nice crunchy texture and taste. If you prefer something cold and crunchy.
I do love a good sauce on top of our fish tacos, I typically will just use Catalina Dressing; however, you can also make your own fish taco sauce too. The fish tacos can also be served with a variety of toppings such as sour cream, avocado, salsa, lime juice, and more!
Should you use corn tortillas or flour tortillas?

White corn tortillas are typically used for fish tacos, and what we use; however, you can always use flour tortillas if you prefer those.
The tortillas set up really well in the air fryer. When I make these in the air fryer, I set them up right next to each other using the sides of the air fryer to keep them upright. Once they are cooked, they’ll stay upright without any issue.
You can use a stainless steel, oven-safe taco holder.
How do you make Air Fryer Fish Tacos?

To make fish tacos, the first step will be using the air fryer to cook the fish. This just takes 12 minutes at 360 degrees F. It needs to be easily flaked with a fork. The fish can then be just flaked into smaller pieces to put on the taco shells.
At this point, if you would like to do this as meal prep, you can store the fish for later once it’s cooked, and in a separate container, store the topping, such as corn salsa or coleslaw.
Once you have the fish cooked, it’s time to build your taco. Using a white corn tortilla, let these warm up to at least room temperature if not already so that they are easily pliable. I like to then spray a bit of olive oil on them.

Top them with your fish and corn salsa, then place them in the air fryer basket. It’s best to also spray the basket with olive oil spray. As you place them in the air fryer, stack them right next to each other where each one keeps the other one up and then use the sides of the air fryer to hold them.
These will then be cooked for 5 minutes at 360 degrees F. Once they are done, the shells will stand up on their own and be perfect for eating!
Tips for Making the Best Air Fryer Fish Tacos with Corn Salsa:

- Do not overcrowd the basket; allow air to circulate!
- Use a meat thermometer when cooking the fish, and be sure it reaches an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.
- Add extra spice or heat with cayenne pepper or red chili pepper flakes.
How do you store leftovers?
Store the fish and corn salsa separately. Once the fish has cooled, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, reheat at 350 degrees F for 3-4 minutes in the air fryer.
The corn salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Stir before topping the fish tacos.
These Air Fryer Fish Tacos with Corn Salsa are the perfect choice for Taco Tuesday or simply a quick, light weeknight meal. They are a crowd pleaser and easy to customize with your favorite toppings!
