Enjoy an easy snack with these quick and easy Air Fryer Chickpeas!
Chickpeas make for a tasty plant-based snack, but to get that nice and crispy texture they can be made quickly in the air fryer.
Chickpeas are also known as Garbanzo Beans. This particular recipe is going to be made with canned Chickpeas, found easily in the beans and legumes section of the grocery store.
Why are Chickpeas good for you?
Chickpeas can be a good alternative for a healthy snack, instead of chips or other processed products. They are full of fiber and nutrients, plus lots of protein too.
They are also plant-based, which happens to be something many are looking for these days.
Do you use Canned Chickpeas to make Air Fryer Chickpeas?
This recipe will be made using canned chickpeas, typically a 16oz can of chickpeas is plenty for 2-4 people.
These do need to be rinsed and drained before placing in the air fryer.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Chickpeas:
As mentioned above, the chickpeas should be drained and rinsed first. Once this is done carefully and evenly place them in the air fryer.
It’s best to place the chickpeas in a bowl. These can be coated with grapeseed, avocado, or coconut oil spray. Once these are coated, season them with the seasoning of your choice before cooking.
There are many variations of seasonings for Air Fryer Chickpeas. They can be flavored with any seasoning flavor you prefer.
For instance, you can do Lemon Pepper Chickpeas, Spicy Chickpeas, Peppered Chickpeas, and so on. It’s completely up to you.
We prefer to use no-salt seasonings such as these Salt-Free blends from Mrs. Dash.
Each of these adds great flavor without adding any additional salt.
Once done, carefully cook them in the air fryer.
Remember if this is your first time making these in the air fryer, watch them closely because all air fryers do heat differently.
Once you make them once or twice, you will discover the sweet spot on time for your air fryer.

Air Fryer Chickpeas
Ingredients
- 16 oz Canned Chickpeas Rinsed and Drained
- Cooking Oil Spray of Choice Grapeseed, Coconut, Avocado, Etc.
- 2 Tsp Seasoning of Choice
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the chickpeas and add to a bowl.
- Coat with cooking oil spray of choice and seasoning.
- Evenly place in the basket of the air fryer or Ninja Foodi.
- Cook at 390*F for 10-12 minutes, check them after 6 minutes, be sure to watch these closely as all air fryers heat differently.
