What tortillas should you use for Gluten-Free Air Fryer Tortilla Chips?
White Corn Tortillas work the BEST for these chips; however, you can also use yellow corn tortillas.
These are also typically naturally gluten-free, but if that is a need be sure to check the ingredients first before using them. I use La Banderita or Mission White Corn Tortillas.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Tortilla Chips:

- Do not overlap the chips, keep them spaced apart.
- Watch the first batch closely as all air fryers heat differently so the cooking time will vary a bit.
- If they aren’t crisp enough, add a spritz of oil spray and an additional 1-2 minutes of cooking time.
- Remember with each batch the air fryer is warmer, so the cooking time will speed up.
- A little bit of oil will be needed, which is why we use olive oil spray or grapeseed oil spray, just a spritz.
How to store Homemade Tortilla Chips:

Once cooled, store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. If they lose the crispness, place back in the air fryer at 325 degrees F for 1-2 minutes to recrisp.
Best Flavor Variations:

- Cinnamon Sugar Chips – Use melted butter and cinnamon.
- Spicy Chips – Add cayenne pepper or chili powder.
- Lime Chips – Add fresh lime zest and sea salt.
- Cheesy Chips – Add a little bit of garlic powder and grated parmesan before cooking.

Gluten-Free Air Fryer Tortilla Chips are easy to make at home in minutes without buying a bag of tortilla chips from the store. These are great for a quick snack or when hosting a party!
We have also paired these with Air Fryer Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas.

Karen says
Can these be made using wheat tortillas instead of the corn ones?
Kristy says
I haven’t tried them with regular tortillas, so it would be a trial process. I’d start with the method here and then add additional time if needed.
