In less than 15 minutes make a tasty Air Fryer Cod right in your Air Fryer with this Frozen Cod!
Making frozen fish fillets in the air fryer is so easy, even better when you make this tasty Air Fryer Cod.
Not much is needed to make fish in the air fryer outside of your air fryer, grapeseed oil spray, and the fish you are planning to use.
How do you make Gluten-Free Air Fryer Cod?
In order to make this gluten-free, I used Hook Line and Savour Gluten-Free Air Fryer Cod. These come pre-seasoned and breaded, so everything you see here in this fish is completely already done, this is a recipe to heat up frozen cod in the air fryer.
This is by far the best gluten-free frozen fish fillets that I have ever eaten. I found these at our local Costco and it’s been a staple for a quick dinner night ever since.
These can be made in your air fryer in less than 15 minutes.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Cod:
Making this is so simple, but the cooking times will vary. When using the Gluten-Free fish without preheating it took about 15 minutes at 390*F.
If I use something like Gorton’s Fish Fillets, those take about 10 minutes. A lot of it will have to do with the size of the fillet. The gluten-free fillets were thicker than the Gorton’s fillet.
This means it’s imperative to keep a close eye on your fish and also use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature, which needs to be at least 145*F.
It’s also a good idea to use a silicone liner in the air fryer for less mess. I have been using these regularly now when cooking and it’s a great way to avoid anything sticking to the bottom plus easy to clean.
It’s also best to flip the fish over halfway through the cooking time, which will allow you to evenly cook it on both sides.
What should you serve this with?
This is perfectly paired with Air Fried Okra and Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes.
Want to make FRESH Fish?
If you are in the market for fresh fish made in the Air Fryer, check out this post for Air Fried Fish. This will use fresh fish and bread it and then air fry it!
Now it’s time to eat! Enjoy!

This recipe is misleading. The picture shows a beautifully crusted piece of cod but there is no mention of any crusting in the recipe.

The cod that is used in this recipe is mentioned both in the post and the recipe card, the title also says Frozen Cod, but again product is linked within the post and the recipe card. http://hooklineandsavor.com/products.html
Lovel says
There are no suggestions for the seasonings or breading. Not very helpful.

Not a recipe
Kristy says
This is how you air fry frozen cod as mentioned in the title of the recipe. If you are looking for a recipe from scratch here it is – https://airfryerfanatics.com/air-fried-fish-gluten-free-air-fryer/.
Louise says
Also stand by the other reviews; I came to the site due to the picture of the breaded cod. If you were not going to bread the fish, you should consider posting a picture of unbreaded fished. The other way around seems deceptive.
Kristy says
As mentioned in the comments and throughout this post, this is a recipe for frozen cod, which mine was breaded as most frozen cod is. If you would like to bread it yourself, you can find my recipe for air fried fish that is made fresh and breaded here – https://airfryerfanatics.com/air-fried-fish-gluten-free-air-fryer/.
If you want frozen cod that is similar to what is pictured, I also link to that within the post you can find it here – https://hooklineandsavor.com/products.html
Costco also offers one too at their stores that is made the same way.
There is nothing misleading about this post as even the title says it’s Frozen Cod and I have indicated exactly what is pictured all throughout my post.

I am an agreement with these ladies Posts. I read the recipe 3 times to make sure. Don’t post something that does have all ingredients. Even if you repeat the recipe somewhere else.
Kristy says
All the ingredients are in the recipe and the post. I used frozen cod that came seasoned, I clearly say this repeatedly in this post and recipe along with linking to the ones I used. This is a recipe for already breaded and seasoned frozen cod bought from the frozen section of Costco. For fresh fish, you would need to check out the recipe that I link to in the post – https://airfryerfanatics.com/air-fried-fish-gluten-free-air-fryer/

I agree with Kristy.. ingredients are listed… preseason fish from C OSTCO… just a the recipe reads. I found no confusion.
Thanks Kristy.

Just what I was looking for, thanks!

I simply wanted to know how long and what temp to cook frozen fish, and that’s what I learned from your article – thank you very much! And that Costco gf fish looks amazing!
Liz says
This is not a recipe, and I’m mad that I gave you any additional traffic to this trash post. No one wants to read your backstory that explains you’ve purchased pre-processed food at Costco.
Kristy says
This is how you heat and serve cod from the air fryer that is frozen which is 100% what the title says “frozen cod”, it’s prebreaded, this method can be used any breaded and frozen fish which is clear in the post and recipe information. I’ve also linked to the fresh cod that is breaded by hand in the post as well, it can be found here – https://airfryerfanatics.com/air-fried-fish-gluten-free-air-fryer/. If you prefer, you can add Everything seasoning to it to have the same flavoring as the cod in these pictures as well. I apologize if you found it was misinterpreted, but I have tried my best to clearly communicate this post is about frozen cod that is store-bought.
Matt says
Great recipe! The suggestion to flip them halfway through is key! What’s added was after flipping I add some herb, garlic powder, black pepper and a spritz of olive oil. Thank you for posting this!

Click bait – hook line and sinker
Kristy says
No click bait, the product is called “Hook, Line, and Savor”…no sinker over here. It’s a great frozen fish and that is exactly what the photos are of, I mention that several times in the post too. This post is for frozen cod and how to make it. This particular frozen cod had Everything Bagel seasoning on it, which is what is on the pictures. Here is more info, this is also linked in the post as well – https://hooklineandsavor.com/

I was looking for the time and temp to cook COD in an air fryer. I have my own coatings and seasonings. Thank you for posting this. I don’t think it’s click bait. It answered my question. Although, I will say that without reading the entire article, people would be mislead if they just clicked on “Jump to Recipe”. Anyway, after reading it all, I do see where you said all that other that you replied to those post.
Sara says
Apparently others have issues with reading and comprehension. Lol
I came on to see temp and timing of frozen/breaded fish for the air fryer, and that’s exactly what you have posted.
Thank you!
(And for reference, this post was not misleading in any way)
