What is the best type of pasta to use?
The shape of pasta does make a difference when making Air Fryer Pasta Chips because you do not want to be able to pick up the pasta like you would a chip.

Bowtie pasta will be your best choice for this easy recipe. This is the best shape pasta making it easiest to use for your crunchy snack.
If you need to make these gluten-free, use Gluten-Free Bowtie Pasta. In my opinion, the Jovial brand is the best choice when choosing gluten-free pasta for your pasta chips. It has a good texture that works well in the air fryer.
Can you make these in the Ninja Foodi?
This Air Fryer Pasta Chips recipe can be made exactly the same way in the Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker, Air Fryer, or Ninja Speedi.
They will need to be made using the air crisp function of the machine.
What do you need for this fun snack recipe?

- Bowtie Pasta
- Grapeseed Oil or Olive Oil
- Italian Seasoning
- Garlic Powder
- Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Shredded Parmesan Cheese works better than grated, so be sure to use the shredded variety.
How do you cook the pasta?
Before using the Air Fryer, the uncooked pasta will first need to be cooked as instructed on the package using a large pot of boiling salted water.
Alternatively, you can also cook pasta in your Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker using the pressure cooker setting. If you plan to do this, you will add the pasta to the Ninja Foodi along with 4 cups of water.
Once you have added the water, add the pressure cooker lid or slide the lid in place and then move the nozzle to SEAL. The cooking time will be 4 minutes on HIGH pressure, then quickly release the steam by moving the valve to VENT.
Once you are done cooking your pasta, then you can move on to the Air Fryer instructions.
Tips for Cooking Air Fryer Pasta Chips:

First the pasta chips will be added to a small bowl and coated with the ingredients.
If you prefer, you can line your air fryer basket with parchment paper or coat it with grapeseed oil spray, but be sure to place food on the parchment paper before using it to avoid the paper blowing in the machine.
Using the air fryer basket, place the pasta in a single layer. This means that you do need to cook these pasta chips in batches.
Once you have them in the air fryer, cook them at 350°F for 5 minutes, carefully shake up the pasta, and continue cooking until the outer sides are crispy and golden brown.
Keep the idea in mind of cooked lasagna. The lasagna gets crispy around the edges and that is the idea with pasta chips.
The total cooking time will be about 15-20 minutes depending on the level of heat that your air fryer puts out.
Once the batch is done, place them on a paper towel lined plate and continue with the additional batches.
Remember these are put in the air fryer cold, so this is not done using a preheated air fryer. This means after the first batch, then you will need to decrease cooking time a bit because the remaining batches will be going in a warm air fryer.
What dipping sauce should you use?
Pasta Chips work the best dipped in Marinara Sauce or your favorite dips.
This could be a spinach dip or dill dip too.
How long can you store Air-Fried Pasta Chips?
The whole batch can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Leftover pasta chips CANNOT go in the freezer. They will harden up and crack.
This is a great recipe that uses simple ingredients to make the perfect snack that is also kid-friendly too.
