Why do you need to Par-Boil the potatoes?
I highly suggest par-boiling the potatoes before adding them to this dish. Par-boiling is simply cooking them a little bit, but not the entire way.
This particular article on 3 Reasons Why You Should Par-Boil Potatoes, will be extremely helpful in explaining this. In this article speaks about par-boiling for grilling; however, it is the same for this Cajun Shrimp “Boil” in the air fryer.
In order to do this, simply bring water to boil, and boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until when sliced with a knife they are cut easily but not so soft that they fall apart. This typically takes no more than 5 minutes.
By par-boiling the potatoes, you can be sure that they will come out nice and tender once everything is cooked and provide you with the best results for this meal.

Tips for Making Cajun Shrimp Boil in the Air Fryer:
When using aluminum foil in the air fryer, be sure the food is on the foil to weigh it down. This will keep the foil from touching the heating element when the hot air begins to circulate.
This recipe can be done with fresh shrimp or frozen shrimp, but it does not use cooked shrimp. If your shrimp is not fully cooked, first cook the raw shrimp then proceed with the recipe.
The lemon wedges if used, can be squeezed to add lemon juice to the meal giving it a nice lemon zest before serving.

As always air fryer machines tend to vary in air fryer temperature, this means that you will want to watch closely the first time this is made to find your optimal time and temperature.
When using an air fryer, most cooking time is used as a guide and then will be adjusted based on your machine.

Have not made the recipe so I didn’t rate but it sounds good What would you suggest as a substitute for the shrimp? And at what point would you add it to the air fryer? Could you make this recipe with raw Italian sausage and how would that affect the instructions. Thanks alot
