What type of meat should you use for Beef Kebabs or Beef Kofta Kebabs?

This recipe is best made with 80/20 or 85/15 ground beef. This way the meat is wet enough to shape around the kebabs. Alternatively, you can use ground turkey, ground sausage, or ground chicken but will need to adapt the cooking times accordingly as this is written to be made with ground beef.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Beef Kebabs:

- Use the right ratio of meat – Ground meat with a bit higher fat content for the juicy kebabs.
- Do not overmix.
- Metal Skewers work the Best – We prefer metal skewers over wooden skewers they don’t break or crack during cooking in the air fryer basket.
- Use a meat thermometer – The meat should reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F.

Air Fryer Ground Beef Kebabs
Ingredients
- 6 Metal Skewer Sticks
- 1 Pound Ground Beef
- 2 Tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Ground Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp Thyme
- 1 Whole Egg
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 360ยฐF for 3 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, add ground beef, Italian seasoning, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and thyme. Mix until all spices are evenly mixed.
- Make a well in the middle and add the egg, mix to combine.
- Divide mixture into 6.
- Shape the meat mixture on the skewer to look similar to a sausage.
- Place in the air fryer basket and make sure they are not touching, you may need to do 2 batches.
- Air Fry at 360ยฐF for 8 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy!
