One of our all-time favorite snacks in the air fryer is Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips. These are the best easy side dish, appetizer, or snack recipes. These sliced potatoes are air-fried, topped with a variety of toppings like Balsamic Vinegar and Ranch Dressing for the best zesty snack.
We were first introduced to this recipe many years ago at our local pool. They would have a variety of foods you could order to be served poolside, and this was by far our favorite, and somehow it just went with a pool day. These zesty chips are coated with tasty toppings and happen to be the ultimate comfort food. At the pool, they’d use bagged chips; however, we decided to use Air Fryer Potato Chips, and they came out wonderful!

Step-by-Step Instructions for Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips:
- Begin by washing and slicing the potatoes. These need to be very thin, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Use a paper towel and soak up any excess water in the potato slices.
- Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray and add the potatoes evenly.
- Sprinkle the potatoes with a dash of salt.
- Air Fry at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes, check on them at 10 minutes to be sure they do not overcook. Add 5 minutes if needed to your desired crispness. (All air fryer temperatures vary a bit, so it’s best to check at 10 minutes since your air fryer may be hotter than mine.)
- Repeat this process for all the potato slices.
- Once all potato chips are done, place them on a large plate and coat them evenly with ranch dressing, balsamic vinegar, shredded bacon, and cheese.
- Serve.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips:

- 1 Large Potato will serve at least 2-4 people.
- Work in batches, fitting 10-12 chips at a time into the air fryer basket.
- Always check in on them during the cooking time, as all air fryers heat differently.
- Use olive oil spray to keep the potatoes moist and garlic salt for extra flavor.
- A mandolin is best for slicing to keep uniform and even slices.
- Want them spicy? Add red pepper flakes!
How do you store leftover potato chips?

If you have leftovers, it’s best to store them without the toppings. If you have toppings on them, you can attempt to scrape off the toppings before storing. If there are toppings, they’d need to be stored in the refrigerator instead of at room temperature.
Air Fryer Potato Chips are best served fresh; however, if storing leftovers, make sure they have fully cooled, then store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. If needed to crisp them again, heat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 2-3 minutes.

Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chops are a crowd-pleaser, easy to make, and so tasty to share for game nights, poolside appetizers, or just for a weekend snack!
