Make a great easy lunch or appetizer with these Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips!
Last year, we spent most of the summer at the local pool, which had a restaurant too. One of our favorite things to order there were the Loaded Potato Chips. They were homemade potato chips topped with various toppings.
I’m not sure if it was the heat and water but something about them just screamed summer! They were the best snack during those hot days at the pool.
I decided to try to adapt them using the Air Fryer and Air Fryer Potato Chips to make these Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips:
One large potato makes enough potato chips for about 4 people, which was our experience. If you prefer to share more then I would go with 2 potatoes.
These do take some time to make as you will want to do them one layer at a time. We were about to fit about 10-12 chips in the air fryer basket with each round of chips.
The next thing to remember is cook time, in my Ninja Foodi, these were cooked at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. I’d suggest checking in on these around 10 minutes to be sure they do not overcook because all air fryers heat differently. We like them nice and crispy.
They also need to be coated with olive oil spray too and you can add some salt too. Of course, these can be made in a pot of oil too but if you want to keep them made with less oil they work just fine in the Air Fryer.
What do you need for Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips:
- Potatoes
- Salt
- Ranch Dressing
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Shredded Bacon
- Blue Cheese
These are the ingredients that were on the loaded potato chips served at our local pool. We decided to make ours without blue cheese but you can add that if you prefer too. I have a family that does not care for blue cheese.
Once you have your potato chips made, all you need to do is plate them just like you would nachos and top them with the toppings, it’s that easy!
We love to serve these in the summer. I can make a plate of them and sit them on the back patio and the kids can take a break and eat up. It’s a great little snack on a warm summer day!
Are you ready to make a batch? Let’s make some Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips!

Air Fryer Loaded Potato Chips
Ingredients
- 1-2 Large Baking Potatoes Depending on how many chips you want to make
- Olive Oil Cooking Spray
- Salt
- Ranch Dressing
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Shredded Bacon
- Blue Cheese Optional
Instructions
- Begin by washing and slicing the potatoes. These need to be very thin, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Use a paper towel and soak up any excess water in the potato slices.
- Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray and add the potatoes evenly.
- Sprinkle the potatoes switch salt.
- Air Fry on 400 degrees for 15 minutes, check on them at 10 minutes to be sure they do not overcook. Add an additional 5 minutes if needed to your desired crispness. (All air fryer temperatures vary a bit, so it's best to check at 10 minutes since your air fryer may be hotter than mine.)
- Repeat this process for all the potato slices.
- Once all potato chips are done, place them on a large plate and coat them evenly with ranch dressing, balsamic vinegar, shredded bacon, and cheese.
- Serve.
