What type of pecans should be used for Air Fryer Candied Pecans?

This recipe uses a pound of halved pecans, so they’ve already been cracked and halved if you are purchasing these straight from the store.
Can you make these as Ninja Foodi Candied Pecans?

This recipe works in the Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker using the Air Crisp function or in the Ninja Air Fryer, just the same as it would in any other air fryer.
The instructions and method would stay the same.
Tips for Making Air Fryer Candied Pecans:

- Batch Cooking – These will need to be cooked in the air fryer in batches. I did this recipe in 3 batches.
- Spray the Air Fryer Basket – Use these parchment sheets for the air fryer or coat with grapeseed oil spray or olive oil spray.
- Always Watch Closely – ALL air fryer machines heat differently, make sure to keep a close eye on the pecans the first time they are made to avoid overcooking.
- Adjust the Sweetness – We used a full cup of sugar, but you can adjust the sweetness to use less sugar or replace it with an alternative sugar like Splenda.
- Use Different Nuts – This same process can be done with a variety of different nuts like cashews or almonds.
How to Store Candied Pecans:

Once the pecans are fully cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If preferred, they can also be stored in a freezer-safe storage bag and placed in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Air Fried Candied Pecans are the sweet treat that never lasts long in our home. It also smells amazing when you are cooking them. This is the perfect sweet treat as we head into the holiday season for family and friends!

Have you tried this with Almonds? Would the cooking time be the same?
Kristy says
It should work similarly with almonds, just watch the cook times and check in on them to be sure they don’t overcook.

I love buying Candied Pecans at festival so I would love to give this a try. I’m curious how they air fry since light weight items fly around in an air fryer.
