Using a spoon or a knife, remove the core of the apple. Be careful not to cut it all the way through. If you have some of the apple that is not the core, you can set those aside and use them for the topping.
Mix the melted butter and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
Using a pastry brush, brush the mixture on the apple and inside the apple where the core was removed. Set aside.
In a medium size bowl, mix the ingredients for the topping. This is the oats, pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. If you have any additional apple pieces from earlier, mix those in. Mix until well combined.
Add the oat mixture equally into both apples.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the basket of the air fryer.
Carefully place the apples in the air fryer basket and air fry at 350°F for 13-15 minutes. It's best to start checking them at 10 minutes as all air fryers heat differently.
